Washington Court House does not apologize for its strip malls, and you should not apologize for eating well inside them. This list covers the townโ€™s actual working spectrum, from a hotel breakfast worth waking for to a skating rink pizza that fuels birthday chaos, plus a sauce bottle that outranks most restaurant kitchens.

The Willowโ€™s waitress Mandy runs her floor like a dispatcher, and the wings at Roosters justify a tank of gas. Dandelions hide golf balls at The Greens, but that is part of the charm.

Read carefully; the best table in town might be a patio chair in light rain.

Highlights
Great little find
Awesome service speed
Best waitress Mandy
Amazing food quality
Worth stopping in

The Willow Restaurant is the kind of place you drive past twice before realizing you should have stopped. I came for lunch and left wondering why anyone bothers with chain food. The service speed is remarkable; my plate arrived before I finished checking my phone. Mandy, the waitress, ran the floor like a field general with a warm smile. The food quality justifies a detour from any route. A great little find, provided you accept that the decor does not match the kitchen's ambition. Worth stopping in. I will be back.

Great cocktails, cozy patio
Repeat-worthy rainy day spot
Friendly staff, inviting atmosphere

Salty Broads Patio operates on a simple premise: good drinks, better cover. The cocktails are well-constructed, not merely strong. The patio itself is cozy in the way a well-worn sweater is, and it held up admirably during a light rain. The staff greeted me like a regular, which I appreciated, since I was not one. The atmosphere invites you to stay longer than planned. A repeat-worthy rainy day spot. I did not want to leave, and I suspect you will not either.

Highlights
Exceptional service from Brittany
Worth the 45-minute drive
Huge, meaty wings praised
Arrive early to beat crowds

Roosters is a forty-five minute drive from Washington Court House, but the wings justify the mileage. I arrived early, as advised, and still found a decent crowd. The wings are huge, meaty, and properly sauced. Brittany handled my table with exceptional efficiency and a deadpan wit that matched my mood. She remembered my drink order without a prompt. The place fills fast, so plan accordingly. It is loud, busy, and unpretentious. If you want delicate dining, go elsewhere. If you want wings, go here.

Delicious bowls, friendly staff
Favorites for every meal
Top choice in town

Sunny Spoon Acai is the rare establishment that earns its name. The bowls are delicious, with a texture that feels intentional rather than mushy. The staff is friendly, which matters more than most places admit. I have eaten here for breakfast, lunch, and a late afternoon snack. Each meal hit the same consistent mark. It is my top choice in town for something light but satisfying. The portions are honest. The prices are fair. This is the sort of place you hope stays exactly the same for the next decade.

The Greens

The Greens
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ 703 Highland Ave, Washington Court House, OH 43160

๐ŸŒ Website
Highlights
Well-kept nine-hole course
Friendly staff and golfers
Dandelions hide good shots
Frequent play, weekly rounds

The Greens is a nine-hole course that respects your time. It is well-kept, which is more than I can say for some pricier courses. The staff and the regular golfers are uniformly friendly. There is a wrinkle: dandelions have colonized the rough, and they will happily hide a wayward shot. I lost two balls to them. Still, I played a weekly round for a month and never tired of it. The challenge is modest but real. Frequent play here is easy to justify, especially if you value practice over prestige.

Highlights
Stunning floral arrangements
Excellent customer service
Perfect for any occasion
Friendly, helpful staff
Beautiful, unique tulips

Flor & Co. does not serve food, but it belongs on this list because it feeds something else. The floral arrangements are stunning, constructed with a restraint that many florists lack. I ordered tulips for a mundane Tuesday, and the result was exceptional. The staff is helpful without being pushy, and the service was swift. The tulips themselves were beautiful and, notably, not the standard grocery store variety. The shop handles any occasion without melodrama. If you need to say something with flowers, say it here. They will handle the translation.

Highlights
Sauce worth every penny
Buff-Que sauce is favorite
Fantastic across all flavors
Great on wings too
Value for family cookouts

D B Yummers LLC sells sauce, and I am not ashamed to say I have a bottle in my pantry. The Buff-Que sauce is the standout, a hybrid that knows exactly what it wants to be. It is fantastic on wings, though I have also used it on grilled chicken and a regrettable but delicious hot dog. Every flavor I tried was solid. The value is excellent for family cookouts, where one bottle can rescue an entire platter of bland meat. I spent money here without hesitation. You should too. Your taste buds will confirm the invoice.

Fresh local produce
Unique artisan gifts
EBT cards accepted
Friendly community vibe

The Fayette County Farmers' Market is a weekly reminder that local food does not need to be complicated. The produce is fresh, and I mean that in the way that matters: it tastes like the ground it came from. There are unique artisan gifts that I actually wanted to buy, not the usual candle-and-soap filler. They accept EBT cards, which is a practical kindness. The community vibe is genuine, not performative. I overheard three separate conversations about tomato blight and one about a dog. It is a good place to be a person.

Highlights
Peaceful community refuge
Compassionate, dedicated volunteers
Essential food and clothing
Quiet space for reflection
Reliable local support network

Rose Avenue Dream Center is not a restaurant, but it feeds people in a different way. It functions as a peaceful community refuge, and I say that without irony. The volunteers are compassionate and clearly dedicated; they moved through the space with purpose. The food and clothing offerings are essential, and they are distributed without condescension. I sat in the quiet space for a while, and nobody rushed me. The place is a reliable local support network. I left feeling that the word "dream" in the name is not aspirational. It is descriptive.

Highlights
Clean, quiet, renovated rooms
Courteous, professional staff
Free breakfast exceeded expectations
Serious safety issue ignored
Management failed to respond

The Holiday Inn Express near Washington Court House offered a clean, quiet, renovated room. The staff at the front desk was courteous and professional. The free breakfast exceeded any reasonable expectation for a hotel buffet, with hot eggs that were not rubbery. This is where the good report ends. I reported a serious safety issue to management, and they ignored it entirely. No response. No acknowledgement. The courtesy evaporated once you needed something real. The room was fine. The response was not. I cannot recommend this place without a warning attached.

Highlights
Nostalgic rink, well maintained
Kids' birthday parties are fun
Pizza in party packages
Convenient to Route 35
Friendly staff throughout

Roller Haven is nostalgic in the best sense, a rink that has not been gut-renovated into a sterile event space. The floor is well maintained, and I did not eat it once. Kids' birthday parties here are genuinely fun, which is a high bar. The pizza in the party packages is serviceable, which is fine, because nobody comes for the pizza. The location is convenient to Route 35, making the trip painless. The staff remained friendly even during a Saturday afternoon birthday party rush. I skated until my calves objected. I would do it again.

B&B Pizza Specialists operates without fanfare, which is precisely why I trust it. The name says what it is, and the product supports the claim. The pizza is solid, with a crust that holds up to toppings without going soggy. The sauce has a slight tang that I appreciated. The staff did not hover, but they answered my questions without irritation. It is not the flashiest pizza in the county, but it is reliable. For a regular Tuesday dinner, that is worth more than novelty. I ate two slices too many. No regrets.
