Honestly, even the wedding barn and the church made the cut, which tells you how this town operates. We’ve taste-tested the chili at Gold Star and the rustic wraps at Sassafras, so trust the process.

Okay, the Lake View Loft Wedding Barn isn't a restaurant, but it hosted a meal I'll never forget. The barn itself is gorgeous. Seriously, picture-perfect. The owners? If you're planning a wedding or a big party, this place is a winner. I left feeling like family.

Coyote Creek Farm isn't a restaurant either, but the homemade breakfast they deliver daily deserves a shout-out. Imagine waking up in this cozy cabin, then finding a warm meal on your doorstep. I found the best burger of the year at Leesburg Dairy Barn. No joke. It was hot, crispy on the edges, and not greasy at all. The homemade fries and cheese curds are legit too. This place is quick and casual, perfect for a no-fuss lunch. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality. If you're driving through, do yourself a favor and stop. Your taste buds will thank you. I know mine did.

Beware before choosing

I have to be honest, Hillsboro Health & Rehab is not a place I'd recommend. The care is, well, speed-running end-of-life care. That's not a compliment. I've heard stories of patients being dumped at shelters, with only two weeks of meds. It's alarming. Please, beware before you choose this facility. Do your research. Talk to people. There are better options out there. This place needs a serious change.

Old-school church charm

Yes, it's a church, not a restaurant. But they serve something better: kindness. The steeples are worth a gawk, sure. But it's Pastor Terry's big heart that stands out. I found shelter there from a cold rain, and they treated me like family. Total strangers, and they welcomed me in. It's old-school church charm, the kind you don't find much anymore. This place is a community anchor. Highly recommend a visit, no matter your faith.
